'100 days, what I've learnt about NG' - Thomas Szymkiw

It’s been officially 100 days since our new Head of Agency, Thomas Szymkiw, walked through our doors with a vision to be part of a new era for NG.

Thomas, or “Schimmy’ as he’s known to us, has fitted in seamlessly – which was never in any doubt! We asked him to evaluate his first three months as part of our team and share five things he’s learned about life at NG – The Property People.

Walking into the office for the first time was like taking a breath of fresh air.
The modern and unique working space of the NG office instantly promotes cohesive working and that we’re one team working towards a common goal. Every single member of the NG team is fantastic and has been so welcoming.

I’ve learned quickly about the responsibility of being a director of a company.
The step up was a steep learning curve, something I’d craved for a long time and felt truly supported with at NG. It’s great to be able to influence decisions that benefit the business now and that will enhance our future to progress NG forward.

NG is a real team.
I can safely say that every single member of the team here is an absolute delight to work with. They have such a positive team culture at NG which seems to effortlessly breed confidence in everyone who works here.

Confidence is king.
Having the freedom and authority to work in all sectors of the market and with new high-quality instructions and clients has improved my confidence in my own ability and skill set. I’ve been instrumental in working “front of house” as well as behind the scenes on our website, marketing and processes which is something I’ve really enjoyed.

It feels like I’ve always been a part of NG and now I’m hungry for more.
What I want to do now is build on and exploit the excellent brand that we have here at NG. I want to grow the Agency department to where I know it can be.
Having already seen first-hand the upward trajectory of our management and building consultancy departments, I’m driven to do more of the same.
