Double delight for Reds as NG pair fires team to victory in crunch match

Local bragging rights don’t come much sweeter than a Forest win over Derby, and so the NG team was celebrating after Nottingham Forest Women saw off their Derby County rivals in a 2-0 away win at Pride Park on Sunday.

The Northern Premier Division victory was all the sweeter for NG. Our very own Associate Director Charlotte Steggles was on the scoresheet after Lyndsey Harkin found Charlotte in space at the back post with a corner. The number 6 headed home from close range to give The Reds the lead.

Better came after the break as Charlotte Greengrass, who NG sponsors, doubled Forest’s lead with her 21st goal of the season. Domingo drifted past multiple Rams’ defenders and then found Greengrass in space, the striker fired home in the box.

Charlotte nearly made it three with a long-range effort shortly afterwards, but the ‘keeper made the save, while Charlotte G was also after a brace and had a head brilliantly tipped onto the bar by the Rams keeper.

The victory sees the Reds extend their lead at the top of the Northern Premier Division to four points and keeps them on track to be crowned champions come the end of the season.
