Half-year report: Paul Rogers, Director
As we enter the second half of the year, we’re taking a look back on the first six months in the commercial property world by asking our team how they’ve seen the market.
This week, it’s the turn of Paul Rogers, Director.
What’s your name and speciality at NG?
Paul Rogers, Building Surveyor within building consultancy
How was the first six months of the year in commercial property for you?
It has been exciting and buoyant, we have enjoyed repeat and new instructions and had the opportunity to work with incredible people on a variety of rewarding instructions.
What trends are you seeing emerging?
Carbon reduction is now a priority and there is an active desire among commercial property owners and occupiers to improve the energy efficiency of building usage. We are helping clients implement changes and navigate their impact on other property related matters.
What are the biggest opportunities and challenges facing those with a property portfolio at present?
Understanding and responding to legislative and market changes is paramount but this can lead to other more rewarding opportunities that might not have been fully considered previously.
How do you see the second half of the year progressing?
Although professional work such as dilapidations advice will remain a core service, I expect more project work will come to fruition as we see owners reinvesting, repurposing and upgrading their existing stock.
