Property - a safe investment in turbulent times
Just when you thought it was safe to turn on the news… here comes more political turmoil, says Richard Sutton, NG’s managing director.
Boris Johnson’s departure was supposed to usher in a new era of certainty, but just a few short weeks into Liz Truss’s term as the new Prime Minister, and the political class is, if anything, even more in the mud.
Kwasi Kwarteng’s “Mini-Budget” was nothing short of a disaster, with the markets running scared of tax cuts and rising interest rates bringing forward a run on the pound.
It’s been hard to think of a more turbulent time, domestically.
Yet, here at NG, we’ve never been busier. Across our agency, management and building consultancy teams, we’ve instilled a sense of calm and trust across our client base.
We truly believe this is because is property has always been about people, trust, knowledge and skill – something we have in spades
In short, now is not the time to panic, because with the right team behind you, you can put your faith in your property portfolio to perform – even in the most testing economic times.
Property is a safe bet in such worrisome times. Just look at the price of Sterling and the shabby shape of stocks/shares. If you buy right with property, it won’t let you down. And if you choose the right team to partner with to manage and enhance your portfolio, your investment won’t just be safe – it’ll pay off handsomely.
As Franklin D Roosevelt once said: “Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Purchased with common sense, paid for in full, and managed with reasonable care, it is about the safest investment in the world.”
