NG Chartered Surveyors celebrates Alicia's shortlisting for Outstanding Apprentice of the Year

17 February 2026

NG Chartered Surveyors is proud to announce that Alicia Lewis has been shortlisted for the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year – Construction & Engineering category at the prestigious Nottingham Trent University Apprenticeship Awards.

The awards recognise the exceptional achievements of apprentices, employers and partners who actively champion and support apprenticeship pathways. Alicia’s shortlisting reflects not only her academic excellence but also her professional growth and impact within the commercial property sector.

Joining NG Chartered Surveyors with no prior commercial real estate experience, Alicia has, in just four years, progressed into leading complex agency and commercial management instructions with confidence and maturity. She now independently manages commercial agency and management briefs, supported by the firm’s Directors, and has built strong working relationships with clients, occupiers and contractors alike.

Alicia consistently demonstrates sound professional judgement – striking a careful balance between applying her own expertise and recognising when to seek guidance. Recent client feedback specifically commended her measured approach, professionalism and clarity in managing instructions.

In addition to her client-facing responsibilities, Alicia has led internal professional development workshops for fellow Surveyors, delivering training on complex technical topics and fielding detailed questions with authority and composure.

Currently working towards her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC), Alicia is on track to qualify as a Chartered Surveyor and attain MRICS status following graduation. She is achieving first-class academic grades while working full time – a testament to her organisation, discipline and commitment to excellence.

Beyond her professional and academic achievements, Alicia is a valued and positive presence within the NG team, bringing enthusiasm, humour and warmth to the workplace.

Her journey is a clear example of what determination, resilience and sustained hard work can accomplish.

Alicia said: “I am incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for this award by Nottingham Trent University. Balancing full-time work with my apprenticeship studies has been challenging at times, but it has also been hugely rewarding. The support from NG Chartered Surveyors has been instrumental in my development, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I’m excited to continue progressing towards achieving MRICS status and building my career in the property industry.”

Jude Weston, Director, NG Chartered Surveyors, added: “Alicia’s development over the past four years has been exceptional. She joined us with no commercial property background and has grown into a confident, capable and highly respected Surveyor within the business. She handles complex instructions with professionalism and maturity well beyond her years, and her academic performance has been equally impressive. We are extremely proud of her achievements and believe she is a truly deserving candidate for the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year award.”
