NG strengthens relationship with Garibaldi School
NG Chartered Surveyors have continued their close relationship with Garibaldi School in North Nottinghamshire.
NG Director Jude Weston and Associate Director Charlotte Steggles attended Garibaldi School recently to deliver a presentation about Surveying to their Year 9s, who were having a Careers Day.
This included an overview of the profession, Jude and Charlotte’s different pathways into the profession, and disbanding the myth of what a Surveyor should/does look like.
Jude and Charlotte then set the students a project of seeing how/what they would do to bring Nottingham Castle back into use, which got them into thinking how it would be reopened, including how they would generate income, who would help them run and maintain the site and how could social media assist with the project.
Jude said: “The Garibaldi students were engaged, thoughtful, and had some fabulous ideas. We picked a winning team who had the best ideas, and fed this back to the teachers.
“It was another really worthwhile session at the school and we look forward to extending our partnership with both the teachers and students at Garibaldi.”
Charlotte added: “It was great to see the young adults engaging with what we do as Surveyors on a day-to-day basis. To have this link and be able to give something back and speak with the next generation about their career prospects is something that is important to me and I am glad that we are strengthening that relationship.”
