Putting our best foot forward for Juno Women’s Aid on International Women's Day!

8 March 2024

This International Women’s Day three of our leading ladies at NG Chartered Surveyors, Jude Weston, Charlotte Steggles and Alicia Lewis will join the charity, Juno Women’s Aid in their ‘Steps to Survive’ initiative.

The Steps to Survive fundraiser is run every year between the 1st and 31st of May, with those taking part challenged to walk 39 miles within the month.

We asked Jude what it means to support the charity. “It’s so important to be able to help a vital organisation such as Juno Women’s Aid. Charlotte, Alicia and I will be raising awareness of the average amount of distance a survivor of domestic abuse will have to travel to freedom: 39 miles.

“We hope the funds we raise in May will help Juno Women’s Aid to continue the vital work they do on behalf of women. Choosing to support is a fantastic way to commemorate International Women’s Day this year”

Paula Clarke, Deputy CEO for Juno Women’s Aid said “We’re so pleased to hear NG Chartered Surveyors have chosen to take part in our annual fundraising campaign, to support us in continuing the vital work we do. It’s important that we continue to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the true impacts it has on Women and their children.”

Juno Women’s Aid is based in the Heathcote Buildings in Hockley, Nottingham – a premises that NG are privileged to manage.

In 2022-2023, Juno worked with 2,726 women, 472 children and young people, fostered 56 pets, and received nearly 16,000 calls on its helpline. It supports 500-600 women and children in Nottingham and south Nottinghamshire at any one time.

Its domestic abuse services include a drop-in service; refuge provision, specialist one-to-one and community outreach support for women, children and young people; justice team support through civil and criminal court proceedings, group work programmes and access to Nottingham College training and education.
